Committee Notes

Following HRV's recent roadshow, your HBV committee continue to contribute to ongoing discussions to ensure breeders and breeding activity is considered as new season plans are being formed. Our recent efforts have resulted in the refund of foal registration fees that were applied to 2024 season foals registered after January 1 and we continue to work on a number of other areas including the stallion levy in 2025, the structure of the Vicbred scheme, and general industry efficiencies.

On behalf of breeders we have also extended HBV's sincerest condolences to former committee member Jess Tubbs, and the Sugars family. Greg's passing has been keenly felt by so many in the industry and is a testament to the person he was.

We are still seeking appointments for the 2025 committee - the more members we have the more we can achieve. Consider how you can make a difference this season, our meetings are mostly online so easy to access and will support you in your role if you are new to serving on a committee.
