A futurity is a program of races for which eligibility fees must be paid for a horse to be entitle to run in races restricted to that program. Vicbred - Victoria’s Breeding-Based Futurity Scheme

Victoria is home to the richest futurity scheme in Australia - Vicbred. Designed to encourage breeders to domicile their mares in Victoria and support local studs, Vicbred consists of three tiers - Vicbred Basic, Vicbred Platinum and Vicbred Pure. Breeding for Those Rich Benefits

The primary benefits of Vicbred apply if a foal is bred in South Australia or Tasmania, OR any other state AND by a stallion registered in Victoria but the best value is to be had by making sure your mare is inseminated, foaled down and notified in Victoria.
