Important information about Vicbred acceptances

Age acceptances are now open for Vicbred, Victoria’s gold standard breeding scheme, carrying Australia’s most generous incentives and race series to encourage and reward breeders and owners.

If you want to accept for ONE YEAR of the Vicbred program (two, three, and four-year-old season) you DO NOT NEED TO DO ANYTHING. Harness Racing Victoria will have automatically invoiced eligible horses accounts on 1st December 2023 ($220) - contact them if this has not happened.

These Vicbred fees must be paid in full by 1st February 2024. Any unpaid Vicbred fees after this date will be CANCELLED or will incur a late fee.  

There are no sustaining payments required for horses aged five or older.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION RELATING TO HORSES TURNING TWO YEARS OLD

If you want to accept for ONE YEAR of the Vicbred program, you DO NOT NEED TO DO ANYTHING. Harness Racing Victoria will have automatically invoiced for eligible horses accounts account on 1st December.

If you want to pay a higher fee of $440 (Applicable for Two Year Olds only), which will make your horse eligible for its two, three AND four-year-old seasons, please fill in the form that was emailed by Harness Racing Victoria (including horses’ name or breeding details), tick ‘SERIES FEE’ and email info@hrv.org.au. Please contact them if you did not receive that form.

WITHDRAWING ANY HORSE FROM VICBRED

Harness Racing Victoria will automatically invoice eligible horses accounts on 1st December. If you want to WITHDRAW any aged horse from Vicbred, please fill in the form emailed by Harness Racing Victoria (including horses’ name or breeding details) tick ‘WITHDRAW’ and email info@hrv.org.au. Please contact them if you did not receive that form.
