Victorian Harness Racing Industry Forums

The Victorian Harness Racing Industry is currently facing unprecedented challenges, and in response, the Kindred Bodies will be conducting a series of Harness Racing Industry Forums (Roadshows) at key venues across the State in the coming weeks.

These Forums will not only provide participants with an update on the current state of the Industry including progress made since the Industry Rally on 25 August, but also serve as a platform for engagement, consultation, and feedback on the critical issues impacting your involvement in our sport. We are eager to hear your thoughts on the following keytopics amongst others:

• Recent Stakemoney Cuts

• National Ratings System

• Harness Racing Australia Stallion Levy

• Harness Racing Wagering Product Initiatives

• Initiatives to Boost Harness Racing Participation including Breeding and Ownership

The Kindred Bodies are committed to travelling to all regions of the State to ensure all participants have the opportunity to contribute. The Industry Forums will commence at 7pm at the following venues on the dates specified below:

• Thursday Night, 17 October – Cranbourne

• Monday Night, 21 October – Shepparton

• Tuesday Night, 22 October – Ballarat

• Wednesday Night, 23 October – Terang

• Monday Night, 28 October – Bendigo

• Tuesday Night, 29 October – Mildura

At the conclusion of these Statewide Forums, we will collate the common feedback and provide recommendations aimed at enhancing our sport to the soon-to-be-announced incoming Chairman of Harness Racing Victoria.

If you care about the future of Harness Racing in Victoria, it is crucial that you attend one of these Forums. This is your chance to have your voice heard, contribute to meaningful discussions, and help shape a brighter future for Harness Racing in our State. Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference.

HBV would also reiterate that we currently have four casual vacancies on our committee. At a time like this, full representation is important. Please table your interest in serving on the 2024 HBV committee to contact@hbv.org.au.
